We Have a Simple Food Philosophy

Healthy meal delivery service Home Appétit delivers to Montgomery County, Main Line, South Jersey, Wilmington, Philadelphia, Bucks County, Chester Count and Delaware County

GMOs, Keto, egg allergies—the fundamental act of eating is head-spinningly confusing these days. That's why we abide by the KIS acronym: Keep It Simple. (Yup, we know there's usually a second “s” for “stupid,” but we don’t name call in our kitchen.) That means our chefs start with the highest quality ingredients and then enhance flavors with herbs, healthy fats and expert techniques—never excess salt or preservatives. Our food tastes fresh, because it is: Cooked after you order, in our Philly kitchen, then delivered to your door. We believe that when you fill your plate with food that is inherently healthy, you can enjoy as much as you want.

We Care Deeply About Our People

Home Appétit cares about sustainability and treating employees and clients well and fair.

Who are our people? They're our employees and their families, our clients, our partners, our farmers, and our Philly, NJ and Wilmington communities. Basically, all the people we interact with daily. As a service-based company, treating people with respect is good business. But for us, it goes beyond that. Feeding people is a big responsibility and we never take it lightly. We want our team members and clients to be heard, seen, happy and healthy. We also believe that a rising tide lifts all boats, which is why we continuously support local organizations that improve the lives of those around us.

Our entire team cares about our environmental impact, and we regularly assess our sustainability efforts. We compost with the farm next door, buy in bulk, donate excess food and proudly operate a nearly zero waste kitchen. We’re committed to working with farmers who use sustainable practices, and we're constantly improving our “last mile” system to make deliveries as efficient as possible.

About Home appétit
accordion-image

Home Appétit was founded in 2014 by chef Lee Wallach. The company, which is headquartered in Philly’s Wynnefield Heights, on the edge of Bala Cynwyd, boasts more than 20 chefs, 40 drivers and a growing corporate team.

In addition to our weekly meal-delivery service, we run a small private-chef operation in which we offer in-home chefs and fully customized delivery options.

We deliver to most zip codes in the Philadelphia region, including all suburban counties, parts of South Jersey and the greater Wilmington area. We cook, pack and deliver thousands of meals each week to our loyal (and awesome) clients. Read our company pillars above.

About Chef Lee

Lee Wallach first fell in love with restaurants as a 14-year-old dishwasher at an eatery in Bethany Beach in Delaware. By the time they let him chop some veggies, he was hooked. After graduating from George Washington University in 2008, Lee went right back to cooking, working at renowned restaurants in Napa, Miami and New York, with larger groups (Hillstone) and smaller operations (Freemans).

In 2013, he and his wife decided to relocate to Philly to be closer to family. Lee took the opportunity to reevaluate his future. While trying to figure out what was next, he took a temporary personal-chef gig on the Main Line. READ MORE
